"Master" - Day 9 Luke 17:13 And lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, MASTER, have mercy on us.” Now, when we hear "Master", we often think of the negative connotation of a tyrannical master lording his power over us. However, in this verse, 10 leprous men (men with a terrible and infectious skin disease) asked Jesus to heal them because they recognized Him as the Master of Creation. It is only right to say he is the master, because everything we see is under His dominion. Someone once compared our Heavenly Master's reign over humans to Shakespeare's control over his literary characters - it is only right and fitting (a literary character in Shakespeare's play wouldn't ever question their role in the story). Let's be thankful that our Master and the Author of our lives, loves us so greatly and only has our best interests in mind!
