"Redeemer" - Day 45
“The REDEEMER will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins,” declares the Lord
According to Merriam-Webster's dictionary, there are many meanings for the word "redeem" - to buy back, to get or win back, to free from what distresses or harms, to free from captivity by payment of ransom, to release from blame or debt , to free from the consequences of sin, to change for the better, to atone for, etc. Jesus embodies all of these as our Redeemer. He buys back our lives with his. He wins us back by conquering death. He frees us from sin and captivity. He allows us to change for the better by atonement. The amazing gifts from Jesus are available to any who repent of their sins. Not to those perfect, who never sin, but Jesus will save anyone who is just willing to try. Let us give thanks to God for Jesus, His Son, in whom He was well-pleased as He saw His character of redemption enacted.
