"Prince of Peace" - Day 49 Isaiah 9:6-7 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be calledWonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, PRINCE OF PEACE. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

Everyone wishes for peace on Earth, but the truth is we will never see real peace here. There is no peace for the wicked (Isaiah 48:22), and we are all sinners, fallen with wicked hearts. The only time peace can come is when Jesusdoes away with the world as we know it, and he brings in a new world where he reigns supreme. However, we can create glimpses of the coming kingdom by imitating Christ. When we love others unconditionally, when we show grace, when we defend the defenseless, we can become like Jesus. In the meanwhile, while we wait for him to come back, we can bring some peace to this Earth. We can remind each other of God's peace in the midst of hardships and heartache. Let's give thanks to God for our coming Prince, Jesus, who brings peace to our hearts with the promise of eternal life living with him.
