Day 7 - Christ greeted with rejoicing in Jerusalem

Prophesied in Scripture: Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. Fulfilled in Scripture: A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!” When Jesusentered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”

Christ changed people's hearts. They knew he was special, and worth praising. This was even before he died and rose again! Why? Because he cared for them. He was not like other leaders of the day who were only religious leaders for the recognition or who were so "zealous" for the law that they were neglecting the people. Instead Jesuswas "lowly", and instead of speaking for attention, he spoke to redeem people's lives. Those who had previously felt marginalized, too "unclean" to enter into the presence of God, beggars, the fringes of society, were now being looked in the eye, healed, told they were loved, shown importance and favor. Even little children were made to feel that they had worth. Thank you Jesus for loving us as we are! We praise you! Hosanna!
