Day 21 - Christ would be God's Son Prophesied in Scripture: I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor. 1 Chronicles 17:13 Fulfilled in Scripture: For to which of the angels did God ever say, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father”? Or again, “I will be his Father, and he will be my Son”? And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.” Hebrews 1:5-6
God didn't send Jesus as his worker, as an emissary, and God didn't send one of his angels to save the world. For this labor of love, he wanted to send his very own flesh and blood, his child. He sent his heavenly child to gather his earthly children. He made the ultimate sacrifice in sending his little boy for us. As difficult as it is for someone to give their own life, it is magnitudes more challenging to ask them to give up their child. But God wanted to show us our worth, so He sent His most precious gift. Thank you Lord for Jesus Christ, your bundle of joy that showed your love for us.
