Day 22 - Christ takes away our sins
Prophesied in Scripture: “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Isaiah 43:25
Fulfilled in Scripture: "He himself bore our sins" in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; "by his wounds you have been healed." 1 Peter 2:24
Jesus took our most shameful acts - those words we wish we could take back, the awful harm we have done to others, the horrible mistakes we made in lapses of judgment - and nailed them to the cross. No matter what you have done, the thing that wakes you up in the night full of guilt - none of it is out of reach of the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. He paid our debts and took the agony so we wouldn't have to. There are still consequences for our actions, but they no longer have to weigh on our hearts. And they no longer have to hold us prisoner. Thanks be to God for the amazing freedom from our own terrible actions, by the very precious blood of Jesus Christ!
