Day 26 - Jesus as God's zealous will
Prophesied in Scripture: Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:7
Fulfilled in Scripture: So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me." John 5:19, 30
All of the wonderful things described about Jesus in Isaiah are driven by God's will. It was the Lord's intent for Jesus to come to us to set in motion a new order. And in John we see that every action of Christ's was intended to enact God's desires. Even all of the sounds heard by Jesus were filtered through God's zeal for His story into Christ's thoughts and reactions. My brothers and sisters - what if we lived like this?! In this world, what if we oriented every atom of our being and every intangible aspect to our Heavenly Father? Thanksgiving and honor to Jesus that though we greatly stumble in this world, a day is coming when our new bodies will only hold the essence of the Holy One! Until that day, "let us not grow weary of doing good" - onward and upward!
