House on sand

"But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand." Matthew 5:26

Faith without works is dead (James 2:17). Maybe you don't know scripture very well. That is easily remedied by study, prayer, and community. However, actually carrying out scripture - that is SO HARD! How do you live a perfect life? You can't, but you sure can try! And that's all Jesus asks of us. It's not that we are working FOR our salvation, that is already done, but instead we are working OUT our salvation. That is, we are so full of joy and Christ's love after all he's done for us that

his words inspire us to great action for his kingdom - we can't help but to MOVE with our faith. Without a ministry (wherever God has put you RIGHT NOW that allows you to love God and his children), we may as well try to pour concrete into a foundation on shifting sand. Because knowing the scripture inside, outside, upside, downside, but not living it out defies logic. Jesus, we thank you that you call us as a people to action, and you are our strength to do it!
