"Man of Sorrows" - Day 7

Isaiah 53:3
He was despised and rejected by men; a MAN OF SORROWS, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Jesus knows true sorrow like no one alive today.  There is nothing in this world that we can face that hurts the way Jesus hurt on the cross.  When He cried out "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" it was because He was truly separated from God by all the sin of the world.  God can't be where there is sin, destruction, when we force Him away.  In that moment, Christ was separated for the very first time from God and it was unbearable.  In this world, even at our worst, when we have done the vilest of deeds, we are still living in God's creation - (His self-declared GOOD creation), and thus still have a glimmer of God's majesty, God's hope.  Only Jesus was fully separated from God, as His soul was taken completely away from God's presence at the moment of His death.  Thank you Jesus - Man of Sorrow, that by your wounds - your greatest wound the severance from your Father - we are healed!
