(Start at the beginning HERE.)

"Lion of the Tribe of Judah" - Day 34 Revelation 5:5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

In the Old Testament, we learn about Judah, who was born to Jacob and Leah. Leah married Jacob, but he wasn't in love with her. She had three sons with him, and at the birth of every son she thought "Surely my husband will love me now." Unfortunately, Jacob's attitude did not change, but at the birth of her fourth son Leah's attitude did. She finally recognized that it was God's role to satisfy her soul yearning to be loved, and so she named her son Judah, saying "This time I will praise the Lord" (Genesis 29:35). It was through Judah's line that Jesus was born - despite the fact that Leah's son Judah was not always faithful to the Lord, and indeed neither were numerous descendents leading to Christ. However, Jesus didn't come to this world because of perfect people (though he himself was perfect). Jesus came to save those who were most desperately in need of him, whether they knew it or not. Let's give thanks for Jesus, and his ability to most perfectly satisfy our need for love!
