Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”
He said to them,
“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’
It would be so easy to only look at the positive, uplifting things that
Jesus said. However, Jesus was also very honest. He never sugar-coated anything. Jesus meant what he said when he said many would not make it to heaven. It is the hardest and easiest thing to relinquish control and let Jesus take over your life. We all want to call the shots in our own lives, we want to live however we like. But that's not how it's meant to be. We can only be our true selves by walking hand in hand with our Creator, our Savior, our Counselor. It's hard to hear, and it sounds narrow-minded, but the Truth is singular. Thankfully, Jesus is always reaching out to us to help us find the one and only Truth, but will reach back for him?
