As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said,
“Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” Mark 5:18-19
It would be heavenly (literally) if we all could just go be with Jesus. To be done with this difficult time on earth and rest in the presence of Our Prince of Peace. But God is not done with us yet! As you read this and draw breath, God has you specifically on this planet for a purpose. He was so delighted to form your soul with each piece perfectly fitting into place. The Lord has always intended you for greatness! We too often are easily dismissive of the power of words and their effects. We have seen that words show our heart posture, but words can also be swords of the kingdom of heaven. Every word from Jesus is more precious than gold - raising up weary souls as we fall time and time again. Dear Jesus, give us those words, your words to blossom hearts at winter's end.
