"David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head." 1 Samuel 17:45-46
"Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse declares, The man who was raised on high declares, The anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweet psalmist of Israel, "The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, And His word was on my tongue." " 2 Samuel 23:1-2
When you accept the Spirit of the Living God into His rightful place over your life, a fire of faith and justice put into action cannot help but follow. David was a man after God's own heart. His dying words were that he had the Holy Spirit, and spoke accordingly. However, he also acted on the Spirit's urging. When he saw the injustice of the Philistines against the Lord's people, he absolutely had to act. In the same way, we must not ignore God's pressing matters on our hearts.
