We hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory. So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness” –Hebrews 3:6-8
The Spirit convicts, and we must listen and obey. More so, the reason why we can hear hard truths is that Jesus is our hope, in which we sprout forth and blossom into the people He made us to be. This confidence brings repentance in even before we are through the wilderness. Anyone can be confident when things are going great, but a true believer can praise God in the storm. I'm not saying you need to be feeling full-on peace and happiness, but rather you decide to rise above your emotions and trust that God is good. Even more than that, God is love and we can hold firmly to Him!
