"Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.' " –Acts 2:38
Do you ever find yourself revisiting the most cringe-worthy moments of your life over and over again? Shameful things that you did or said? We all have those moments in our past, and we will, unfortunately, have more in our future. Why do those memories have such a hold on us? I will be very honest, I have to fight against feelings of humiliation on a near daily basis. However, let's all work together to remember the power of the cross. Shadowy memories are no match for the blood of Christ, and His Spirit within us. With all Jesus fought for to make us whole again, we can proudly lift our heads high and boast in the work of our Savior. It is not by our works we are saved, but by Jesus Christ. We have this gift of the Holy Spirit. Let's use Him as our spark to forgive ourselves our past, to forgive others, to bring justice to the world. Our time here is much too short to sit idly by wistfully hoping to change the past. Let's take up our Sword of the Spirit and unite in prayer and action to make real change happen - first in our own hearts, and then in the souls around us. Let's encourage other believers and actively seek out those who are still lost and hurting - we can do it by God's Grace!
I took this photo of the Athabasca Glacier in 2016.
